Kathmandu Valley, is a bowl-shaped valley located in the Himalayan mountains in Nepal. It lies at the crossroads of ancient civilizations of the Indian subcontinent and the broader Asian continent, and has at least 130 important monuments, including several pilgrimage sites for Hindus and Buddhists.

(MUGU) Rara Lake is the biggest fresh water lake in the Nepalese Himalayas. It is the main feature of Rara National Park, located in Jumla and Mugu Districts of Karnali Province. In September 2007, it was declared a Ramsar site, covering 1,583 ha including the surrounding wetland. Rara National Park total area is 106 km²
