Tibet remains one of the most interesting, mystical and spiritual countries of the world, situated at an average elevation of 16,500 ft. above sea level. Opened to the outsiders until in recent years, facilities for tourists are gradually improving. It's attraction is so strong that it has become a must visit obsession for people worldwide.

A trip to Tibet is not for the faint hearted because the travelling can be hard, adventurous and often unpredictable because of its rugged and high elevated landscape. So for those high altitude problems (sickness) travellers and those with a history of heart, lung or anaemia problems should consult a doctor and inform the travel agent in Nepal before considering a visit.

Travelling overland between Kathmandu and Tibet is an incredible journey in which you can see not only the world's highest plateau but also some of the magnificent Himalayan Ranges - so this is a wonderful and amazing trip.

Cost of visa varies according to nationality. A normal visa fee is applicable if visa is processed in 5 working days and US$ 43 additional fee is charged by the Chinese embassy for processing within a day. The Chinese embassy is open for visa purposes every Monday, Wednesday & Friday from 10-11 am .
